History
We are going to make a brief review of the history of the Turia brand so that you can discover the origin of this nationally outstanding beer. The story begins in 1935 in Valencia when a group of friends who were passionate about beer decided to create Cervezas el Turia.
They clashed with the war and had to start brewing their beer from 1947 onwards. For decades, many homes and businesses were toasting the different brands of the brewery.
It didn't take long for it to become a favourite drink among Valencians who felt the product was very much theirs. Unfortunately, however, the economic power of the large national and international brewers meant that the beers produced by El Turia gradually disappeared from the market and only the Turia Märzen managed to survive in some of the city's bars and always on tap, since Damm, who ended up buying the company, decided to withdraw this beer in bottle form.
And so on until 2013, when Damm itself decided to re-launch the Valencian beer par excellence in its old one-third bottle format and a very renovated and modern labelling, while retaining the Torres de Serrano as a symbol.
Types of Branded Beers
As we have mentioned before, this brand went through a very bad period and the only variety that survived it was Turia Märzen. Nowadays it is the only variety of Turia that you can find and that will serve you.
Túria Märzen
Just because it's a toasted beer doesn't mean it's a strong beer. Just like toasting a slice of bread, it tastes different but not stronger. The bitter touch provided by the hops and its light citric and spicy notes make Turia a fresh beer.
Turia is a fresh beer with a good presence in the mouth where memories of toasted cereals prevail. Its aromatic richness and lightness make it ideal to accompany our gastronomy as well as any type of tapas and aperitifs, especially those with intense flavours.
